"Life's Better At The Lake" Card Instructions

1. Stamp designs onto white card stock

First, gather all of your materials so you have them accessible for your project. Then, the first step is to stamp your images either onto a sheet of white card stock, or using a cricut macheine, use the Cricut files and stamp onto the die cuts.

Then, get ready to ink your stamp. In this project, we are using black pigment ink. Pigment ink dries slower, but is has a higher saturation of color that is longer lasting.

2. Cut paper to size and layer on card

Having the perfect paper for your card is essential! Choose a nice summery pattern that is fitting to the lake life theme. We are going with pastel stripe and layering it with a nice blue and beautiful water pattern.

"Have fun with paper patterns you choose! Go with something bright and colorful for this lake theme"

Once you've chosen your paper, get cutting! Measure and cut it to size so it fits nicely on your card. Now layer it up and secure with a glue tape runner - easy peasy! This will add some extra visual interest to your card and make it look amazing.

3. Color in your stamps

Now it's time to color! Start with the lightest color for your base layer. Use quick strokes to fill in the spaces on the stamp and gradually build up the layers of color. Add darker colors afterwards to add depth and dimension. Once you have the desired level of shading, go back in with the lighter color to blend everything together. With a little bit of patience and practice, you'll soon have beautiful stamped artwork!

Tip: For best results, use alcohol based markers!

4. Adhere stamps to card

Start by adhering the centerpiece to your card with 3D foam dots. Once that is secure, you can tuck in additional elements behind the focal point using either your glue tape runner or liquid glue to lay them flat against the background.

5. Add additional shading and highlights (optional)

At this point you could say the card is finished, but feel free to add some additional details. Use an alcohol based marker to add extra shading. This should be kept subtle - just enough to add depth without overpowering the design.

Next, use a white gel pen to draw on bubbles in various sizes around the page. Make sure they are not evenly spaced or sized - this will give your artwork added interest! You can even add some pearl embellishments!

So there you have it - a tutorial for making a beautiful lake life card! We hope this blog post has inspired you to create your own unique cards. Whether it's for a birthday, anniversary or just to show someone how much you care, handmade cards are always appreciated and will put a smile on the face of any recipient. So take some time out of your day to get creative and make something special. The results will be worth it!
