Hi! My name is Mollie from The Prints and the Pea and I create watercolor paintings and prints for nurseries and children's rooms. I especially love creating whimsical, embellished watercolors with various textures (gold leaf and gemstones being among my favorite!)

Many of my pieces are enhanced with these elements which give them a unique, dimensional quality. All of my pieces are custom, made to order, and often include the name people have chosen for their child. I always feel honored when someone trusts me with knowing the name, as it is often times told to me before family and friends!
I'm inspired by the ocean and nature, but my biggest inspiration has been my two young boys. I created all of the art for their nurseries which led to the opening of my Etsy shop last year. I've been painting for as long as I can remember, mainly in acrylics. It wasn't until about a year ago that I picked up watercolors to create a donation piece for a friend recently diagnosed with cancer. And I've never looked back, I was hooked from the very first brush strokes. The way the colors blend is magical; how literally seconds of drying time changes the whole effect. No two pieces ever come out the same, which can be daunting, but also exciting. I just love it! (I guess I am that girl who likes to watch paint dry!)
I use rubber stamps from RubberStamps.com for the branding elements of my business. Everything from thank you notes to my business cards are done with the help of these awesome, crisp stamps. My business cards are inspired by a DIY tutorial for watercolor cards that simply use watercolor paper and a few splashes of paint. Finished off with a quick stamp of my logo and contact information, they are a simple, unique and personal card. No two are alike and each is its own piece of original art.
I chose rubber stamps for my business because they create a warmer, more personal effect. Because my items are hand-stamped, you get the feel that the item is one-of-a-kind. And since all of my paintings are custom and made to order, I felt like the traditional wooden hand stamped option really fit my brand.
I feel very honored that the art I create is enjoyed by others and I hope to keep learning and growing to provide original and unique custom art!
I'd love to help you create a beautiful space for your child too! You can find me on Etsy, on Instagram @theprintsandthepea, and on Facebook. Thank you so much!
